Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born at Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. As for her mother, Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix realized early on that she had a talent to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Following her initial audition, she placed in the top two at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200-meter sprint in only 10 weeks. Felix was a high school graduate when she graduated from school in 2003, signed an agreement with Adidas. After that, she attended an institution called the University of Southern California and studied elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic medal at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record of running the 200m in 22.18. In the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the youngest winner in the world in the distance of 200 meters. In 2007, she defended the title against her Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She always finished within the top three places of the events.
